The 17th Thailand Regional Convention of Narcotics Anonymous (TRCNA 17) is scheduled for February 19–21, 2027, in Pattaya, Chon Buri, Thailand. The Thailand Region of Narcotics Anonymous confirms that the convention will be held at the Asia Pattaya Hotel in Pattaya. NA Thailand
The hotel sits on Pratamnak Road south of central Pattaya, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. That gives convention travelers a useful combination: beach access and quieter surroundings near the hotel, with Pattaya's restaurants, viewpoints, beaches and ferry connections still close enough for short outings. Getting to Pattaya
Pattaya sits on Thailand's eastern Gulf coast about 150 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, roughly a two-hour drive under favorable conditions. The Tourism Authority of Thailand identifies it as one of the country's major beach destinations and an easy coastal escape from Bangkok. Tourism Authority of Thailand
International travelers arriving through Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) can continue to Pattaya by road, while U-Tapao International Airport (UTP) is considerably closer to the city. Asia Pattaya Hotel is located on Pratamnak Road, south of the main Pattaya Beach district. Agoda
For a convention trip, arranging airport transportation in advance can simplify arrival considerably—especially after a long international flight.
Start Close to the Convention at Phra Tamnak
TRCNA's Pratamnak location makes one of Pattaya's best viewpoints especially convenient.
Phra Tamnak Mountain Viewpoint sits between South Pattaya and Jomtien and offers a broad view over Pattaya Bay, the curved beachfront and the city's skyline. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes it as one of Pattaya's most impressive viewpoints. Tourism Authority of Thailand
This is exactly the kind of outing that works well during a convention weekend: distinctive, nearby and manageable without taking an entire day away from the event.
Spend Some Time at the Beach
Pattaya is first and foremost a Gulf of Thailand beach destination.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand highlights Pattaya Beach, Jomtien Beach and nearby islands among the area's main draws, along with swimming, sailing, snorkeling and other water activities. Tourism Authority of Thailand
Because Asia Pattaya Hotel is already positioned on the coast, you don't necessarily need to turn beach time into a separate excursion. A morning walk, a little time by the water or an evening overlooking the Gulf may be enough to make the destination part of the convention trip.
Consider Jomtien for a Quieter Coastal Outing
Jomtien Beach, immediately south of central Pattaya, provides another option if you want to see a different stretch of coastline.
It's close enough to the Pratamnak convention area that you can explore without committing to a long trip across the region. Jomtien is also one of the coastal destinations specifically highlighted by Thailand's tourism authority for Chon Buri. Tourism Authority of Thailand
For TRCNA weekend, that proximity matters more than trying to check every major Pattaya attraction off a list.
Take in the View Before Sunset
Phra Tamnak isn't only useful as a daytime stop.
Because the viewpoint looks north over the curve of Pattaya Bay and the skyline beyond, later afternoon can be an especially appealing time to visit. Tourism Authority of Thailand
If convention scheduling allows, this can be a simple way to break up the weekend: a short ride up the hill, some time outside and then back to the convention.
Make a Day of Ko Lan if You're Staying Longer
If you arrive early or stay after TRCNA, Ko Lan is one of the most natural trip extensions.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand specifically recommends Ko Lan as a Pattaya day trip and notes that local transportation is available once visitors reach the island. Tourism Authority of Thailand
This is better treated as an extra-day activity than something to squeeze between convention sessions. Island trips involve ferry schedules, transportation and enough travel time that rushing back and forth can quickly compete with the convention itself.
If you're only in Pattaya for Friday through Sunday, save Ko Lan for another trip or add an extra day.
See Khao Chi Chan if You Want a Cultural Outing
South of Pattaya, Khao Chi Chan — Buddha Mountain is one of the region's recognizable landmarks.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand highlights the attraction among Pattaya and Chon Buri's major sights and advises visitors to dress respectfully when visiting. Tourism Authority of Thailand
It's a good choice for travelers who want something beyond beaches and city views, especially if you've added time before or after TRCNA.
Eat Well Without Going Far
Food is one of Pattaya's strengths.
Thailand's tourism authority specifically notes the city's fresh seafood and wide range of international restaurants, reflecting Pattaya's long history as an international resort destination. Tourism Authority of Thailand
That makes convention meals easy to keep flexible. You can try Thai food and seafood without having to build a separate culinary itinerary, while plenty of international choices are available for groups with different preferences.
For a recovery weekend, shared meals can be one of the easiest ways to experience the city while still keeping fellowship at the center.
February Is a Good Time for the Coast
February falls during Thailand's transition from the cooler season toward hotter weather.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes early February as still part of the cooler period, with temperatures increasing as the month progresses. It specifically highlights beaches and islands on Thailand's eastern coast as strong February travel options. Tourism Authority of Thailand
For Pattaya, plan for warm weather, strong sun and plenty of time outdoors. Lightweight clothing, sunscreen, a hat and good hydration are practical essentials.
Thailand's tourism authority also specifically warns that Pattaya's sun can be strong, so don't underestimate exposure even if the temperature feels comfortable. Tourism Authority of Thailand
Keep Cultural Etiquette in Mind
Thailand is an easy destination to enjoy, but a little cultural awareness goes a long way.
When visiting Buddhist temples or religious attractions, the Tourism Authority of Thailand advises dressing politely and removing shoes where required. Tourism Authority of Thailand
That is particularly relevant if you add Buddha Mountain, temples or other cultural sites to the trip.
Let Pattaya Add to the Convention, Not Compete With It
Pattaya offers enough activities to fill a much longer vacation.
You don't need to do all of them during TRCNA 17.
A realistic convention weekend might include a walk along the water, a visit to Phra Tamnak Viewpoint, a couple of memorable Thai meals and plenty of time with other members.
Then, if you've traveled halfway around the world and want more, add a day or two for Ko Lan, additional beaches or other Chon Buri attractions.
Recovery is still the reason for the trip. Pattaya simply gives you a pretty remarkable place to have it.
If You Have an Extra Day
An additional day opens up the best of the area's larger outings.
Ko Lan makes an easy candidate for an island day. You could also explore Khao Chi Chan, spend more time along Jomtien Beach or combine several attractions south of Pattaya rather than attempting to fit them into convention hours. Tourism Authority of Thailand
For international travelers, it can also make sense to connect TRCNA with time in Bangkok before or after Pattaya rather than flying such a long distance for only a weekend.
