The Foxton Camp 2027 comes to Foxton Beach, New Zealand, February 26–28, 2027, at Foxton Bible Camp, 17 Te Awa Street. Foxton Beach sits on the lower west coast of New Zealand’s North Island, about ten minutes from Foxton township. The area combines a broad sandy beach, internationally significant wetlands and a small coastal community that is easy to explore without turning the camp into a sightseeing trip. New Zealand

Stay at Foxton Bible Camp

Foxton Bible Camp has operated at 17 Te Awa Street since the early 1960s and includes cabins, lodges, dormitory-style accommodation and facilities for group camps and conferences. Bible Camp

That makes it a natural fit for a recovery camp.

Spend time with the fellowship.

Go to meetings.

Get some rest.

Then head toward the beach or estuary when you want a little space outside.

Walk Foxton Beach

Foxton Beach is wide, sandy and easy to enjoy without much planning.

New Zealand’s official tourism site highlights the beach for swimming, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling and simple coastal recreation. During the summer season, parts of the beach are patrolled by surf lifesavers. New Zealand

For a camp weekend, though, you do not need a long activity list.

Walk along the water.

Watch the waves.

Spend some time outside.

Then head back to camp.

Explore the Manawatū River Estuary

One of the most distinctive natural areas nearby is the Manawatū River estuary and wetland.

The estuary is internationally significant for birdlife and has Ramsar wetland status. New Zealand tourism information notes that dozens of bird species spend time in the area, including migratory species and royal spoonbills. New Zealand

If you enjoy wildlife or photography, this can be an especially worthwhile place to slow down for a while.

Bring binoculars if you already have them.

If not, just walk and look around.

Use the Shared Paths

Foxton Beach has an 8.5-kilometre loop of shared walking and cycling pathways connecting local parks, reserves, the beach and the estuary.

Another pathway runs roughly 3.5 kilometres toward Foxton township. New Zealand

That makes the area unusually easy to explore without needing a car every time you want to get out.

You can walk for twenty minutes or make a longer outing of it.

Either works.

Spend Some Time in Foxton

The nearby town of Foxton, also known historically as Te Awahou, has a surprisingly distinctive mix of Māori and Dutch cultural history.

The official New Zealand visitor guide highlights Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, the National Dutch Museum, Whare Manaaki Māori Gallery, the Flax Stripper Museum and De Molen, a replica Dutch windmill. New Zealand

This is an easy side trip if you need groceries, food or simply want to see a little more of the area before heading back to camp.

Visit De Molen

The Dutch-style De Molen windmill is one of Foxton’s most recognizable landmarks.

It reflects the Dutch heritage represented in the town and sits near other cultural attractions in the Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park area. New Zealand

You do not need a whole day for this.

Stop in town.

Walk around.

Get something to eat.

Then continue with the weekend.

Prepare for a Late-Summer Camp

Late February is summer in New Zealand, so daytime conditions may be warm and comfortable.

Coastal weather can still change quickly.

Bring sunscreen.

Bring a hat.

Bring a light rain layer.

And bring something warmer for the evening.

If you plan to spend time at the beach, follow current surf-safety guidance and swim between the flags when patrols are operating. New Zealand

Getting to Foxton Beach

Foxton Beach is about 49 minutes from Palmerston North and roughly ten minutes from Foxton township according to New Zealand’s official tourism information. New Zealand

The wider area is also a practical stop for travelers moving along the lower North Island.

Driving is the easiest option if you are carrying camp gear, but once you arrive, many of the nearby coastal and estuary areas are easy to explore on foot or by bike.

Let the Camp Be the Weekend

Foxton gives you plenty nearby.

There is the beach.
