The Chicagoland Regional Convention of Narcotics Anonymous XXXIX (CRC XXXIX) is scheduled for January 14–17, 2027, in Rosemont, Illinois, with the theme “Called Out of Darkness into Light.” The convention is being held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago, 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Rosemont, IL 60018. Hyatt confirms the hotel address and notes that the property sits about 1.5 miles from O’Hare International Airport. Hyatt
Rosemont makes this convention unusually easy for travelers flying in. The hotel operates a 24-hour complimentary O’Hare shuttle, and the surrounding district combines restaurants, indoor entertainment, shopping and CTA access within a compact area. Hyatt
Getting to Rosemont
For most air travelers, Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is the obvious gateway.
The Hyatt Regency O’Hare provides complimentary airport transportation, which means you can arrive, get to the convention hotel and potentially spend the entire weekend without renting a car. Hyatt
Rosemont is also served by the CTA Blue Line, which connects O’Hare, Rosemont and downtown Chicago on the same route. CTA
That gives you a useful choice: keep the whole weekend close to the convention or take the train into Chicago for a larger outing.
Explore Rosemont Without Going Downtown
You do not need to go into Chicago every time you have a few free hours.
Parkway Bank Park is a 200,000-square-foot entertainment district with restaurants, bowling, movies, indoor skydiving, comedy and other indoor options. It sits within walking distance of the convention-center district and Rosemont CTA station. Rosemont
For a January convention, that is especially useful.
If it is bitterly cold outside, you still have plenty to do nearby without turning the day into a major transportation project.
Use the Winter Ice Rink if Conditions Line Up
Parkway Bank Park operates a winter ice rink as part of its seasonal programming. Rosemont
If skating interests you and the rink is operating during CRC XXXIX, it can be an easy seasonal activity close to the convention.
No long commute, no complicated itinerary—just something distinctly wintery that fits around the event.
Head Downtown for One Bigger Outing
If you do want a classic Chicago experience, the CTA Blue Line gives you a direct route from Rosemont toward the city.
Rather than trying to see everything, pick one area or attraction and give yourself enough time for the round trip.
A downtown museum, the Chicago River, Millennium Park or a neighborhood food outing can work well if you treat it as one larger block of convention-weekend sightseeing instead of several small cross-city trips.
Keep Chicago Expectations Realistic
Rosemont is close to Chicago geographically, but January weather and travel time matter.
The Blue Line makes downtown reachable without driving, but it still takes time to get there and back. If convention activities are your priority, a Rosemont-focused weekend may actually be more relaxing.
That is one of CRC XXXIX’s strengths: you have access to Chicago without needing to stay in the middle of it.
January Is Serious Winter
Mid-January around O’Hare is cold.
National Weather Service climate normals show typical highs around 31°F and lows around 18–19°F during the CRC weekend dates, with measurable snow common in January. National Weather Service
Pack a real winter coat, gloves, hat and shoes that can handle snow, slush and ice.
If you plan to head downtown, dress for time outside between stations and attractions—not just for the hotel.
Eat Close to the Convention
Rosemont has a large concentration of restaurants around Parkway Bank Park, the Pearl District and the convention area.
The village specifically promotes Rosemont as a dining and entertainment destination, with Parkway Bank Park alone offering numerous restaurant options. Rosemont
For CRC weekend, that means meals can stay easy.
Pick somewhere nearby, sit down with people from the fellowship and avoid spending half the evening crossing Chicago just to eat.
Consider Fashion Outlets of Chicago
If shopping or simply getting out of the hotel appeals to you, Fashion Outlets of Chicago is also in Rosemont's central visitor district and within walking distance of Parkway Bank Park and other nearby attractions. Rosemont
That can be a good cold-weather option when you want a few hours away from convention rooms without committing to a downtown trip.
Keep Recovery at the Center
CRC XXXIX runs for four days, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the destination without forcing too much into the schedule.
A simple weekend works well:
Attend the convention. Eat somewhere nearby. Spend a few hours in Rosemont. Take one trip downtown if it matters to you.
That still leaves room for meetings, speakers, fellowship and recovery.
If You Have an Extra Day
An extra day gives you more flexibility to see Chicago properly.
You could take the Blue Line downtown, visit one of the major museums, walk along the river or explore a neighborhood without worrying about getting back for the next convention session.
If the weather turns rough, staying in Rosemont is still a perfectly good plan.
