Tropical beach with clear water and lush vegetation in Pernambuco, Brazil

2º Convenção Pernambucana Sirinhaém, Brazil, September 23–26, 2027: While You’re in Town NA Travel Guide

The 2º Convenção Pernambucana — “O Propósito Continua” comes to Sirinhaém, Pernambuco, Brazil, September 23–26, 2027, at Sesc Guadalupe. The official Narcóticos Anônimos Brasil event listing confirms the four-day convention in the coastal district of Guadalupe, beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through Sunday. Narcóticos Anônimos

Sirinhaém sits on Pernambuco’s southern coast between Recife and Tamandaré, surrounded by beaches, mangroves, Atlantic Forest remnants and small coastal communities. The municipality’s tourism office describes the area as a quieter alternative to the region’s busier beach destinations, with places such as Guadalupe Beach, Gamela Beach and Santo Aleixo Island nearby. Turismo Sirinhaém

Spend Time at Guadalupe Beach

Praia de Guadalupe is one of the most natural places to explore around the convention.

The beach lies within the Guadalupe Environmental Protection Area, a large protected coastal zone that includes reefs, mangroves, estuaries and remaining Atlantic Forest habitat. Página Inicial

Because the convention itself is based in the Guadalupe area, you do not need to turn this into a major excursion.

Walk along the beach.

Spend some time near the water.

Enjoy the coast.

Then head back when you are ready.

Explore the Southern Pernambuco Coast

Sirinhaém is part of one of northeastern Brazil’s most scenic coastal stretches.

The municipality’s tourism office highlights Guadalupe Beach, Gamela Beach, Barra de Sirinhaém and Santo Aleixo Island among the area’s main attractions. Turismo Sirinhaém

That gives convention visitors several options without requiring a long trip.

If you have extra time before or after the weekend, a coastal drive can be enough to experience more of the region without trying to see everything.

Consider Santo Aleixo Island

Ilha de Santo Aleixo sits offshore from the Sirinhaém coast and is known for clear water and natural pools.

The municipal tourism office lists the island among Sirinhaém’s signature attractions, and local boat trips provide access when weather and sea conditions allow. Turismo Sirinhaém

This is better treated as a pre- or post-convention outing rather than something to squeeze between sessions.

If the convention weekend is already full, leave it alone.

The beach beside you is enough.

Visit Gamela Beach

Praia de Gamela is another nearby beach along the Sirinhaém coastline.

Like Guadalupe, it offers a quieter coastal setting than some of Pernambuco’s more heavily visited resort areas.

The municipality specifically promotes both Gamela and Guadalupe as places for relaxing, swimming and enjoying the natural coastline. Turismo Sirinhaém

For a recovery weekend, that quieter pace can be a very good fit.

Take in the Local History

Sirinhaém is not only a beach destination.

The municipality dates back to the colonial period and preserves historic churches, old sugar-mill properties and other traces of the region’s long agricultural history. Turismo Sirinhaém

If you spend time in the town itself, you will see a very different side of Pernambuco from the beachfront resort areas.

That contrast is part of what makes the destination interesting.

Getting to Sirinhaém

For international travelers, Recife is the most practical major gateway.

Sirinhaém is roughly 65 kilometers from Recife, with road access through BR-101 and regional highways including PE-060, PE-064 and PE-009. The municipal tourism office notes that PE-009 provides access toward Guadalupe and the coastal district where the convention is located. Turismo Sirinhaém

A rental car can make the trip easier if you plan to explore several coastal areas.

Regional bus transportation is also available, but travelers should check current schedules closer to the event.

Prepare for Coastal Weather

September is generally warm along the Pernambuco coast.

Expect tropical conditions, humidity and the possibility of rain.

Light clothing, sunscreen and comfortable footwear make sense, along with a light waterproof layer.

If you plan to spend time near the beach, bring what you need for sun and heat rather than assuming every activity will happen indoors.

Let the Convention Be the Center of the Trip

Pernambuco gives you plenty to explore.

There are beaches.

Islands.

Historic communities.

Mangroves.

Coastal roads.

But O Propósito Continua is the reason for the trip.

Spend time with the fellowship.

Go to meetings.

Listen.

Share.

Then, when you have time, walk along Guadalupe Beach or see a little more of the coast.

You do not need to turn the convention into a full Pernambuco sightseeing tour.

The coastline is already right outside.
